Natural Light Portrait Photography in the Washington DC area
Deposits, Payments & Previewing Images
No deposit is required. For Full Sessions (up to 90 minutes), I only book a limited number of appointments per day to allow for any last minute tweaking for any unexpected weather issues.
Payment is due upon receipt of your online previewing gallery and selecting your digital images. I accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
I'll email you a link to your online previewing gallery within two weeks of your photography session. The gallery link is active for 4 weeks and is shareable with your family and friends. As every photography session is different, each client’s gallery will have a unique number of final images.
What to Wear
Think "simple, timeless, and comfortable" and "coordinating but not matching” if there's more than one of you being photographed. Solid colors or subtle patterns generally photograph better than bold patterns or graphics that might be distracting. Dressing comfortably provides the most flexibility for sitting on the ground, running around, holding or kneeling with younger kids, etc. without having to worry about those dreaded ‘wardrobe malfunctions’. I'm happy to discuss your ideas anytime. And please help me by double checking those little details before the shoot…..clean glasses, nail polish, phones and keys in pockets, etc.
Inclement Weather & Session Location
As long as it’s not raining, we can work outside. We can communicate on the day before or day of the session to reconfirm the session or determine a contingency plan if the weather might be an issue. I also try to remain flexible before and after our scheduled session time in order to tweak the start time for weather if your schedule is also flexible.
We live in such a great area for outdoor photograph sessions! I’m always interested in hearing a client’s ideas, but if you are looking for advice, I have a few favorite parks, gardens, monuments, and urban areas for us to consider.
Editing the Images
All of the images posted to your online previewing gallery are individually custom edited. Once you decide which images you would like to purchase, those selected images will receive one final round of editing.
Receiving your Images & Resolution Size
The digital images are sent to your email address through Dropbox (included with your session fee) or for an additional $15 charge, I can mail you a flash drive with all of the purchased digital images.
The digital images are appropriate for online sharing and are print-ready (no watermarks) up to 10” on the longest side which will allow you to make unlimited personal reproductions and copies for your family and friends. If you would like to purchase a reprint larger than 10” on the longest side, I offer reprints and canvases a la carte and can provide you with a price list upon request. Reprints sized 5x7 and smaller begin at $35 each.
Gift Certificates & Copyrights
Gift certificates for future sessions are available. The Fall season is the busiest for family portraits. Spring is a wonderful time to capture your high school or college senior before graduation and portraits for Mother's Day or Father's Day.
‘Copyright’ means that I am the creator of the image, and therefore, I retain the copyrights to all images with the rights to use them for promotional purposes, competitions, professional reviews, etc. For any digital images that you purchase, there will not be a watermark on them.
