Since 2002, I've been a natural light portrait photographer specializing in relaxed, low-key sessions to authentically and artistically capture the essence of personalities through light-filled color and classic black & white images.

Based in Arlington, Virginia, I love collaborating with families, seniors, couples, and professionals throughout the Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland areas.

I haven't always been a photographer....

I started my career as a CPA with Arthur Andersen and then as a finance manger with Accenture Consulting.  After the first of our three children were born, I was inspired to learn how a camera, natural light, and the art of observation could document our children's emerging personalities and mannerism which were sometimes disappearing before I was ready to let them go.  

 

What began as a passion fueled by joy, chaos, and bittersweet moments eventually launched Donna Owens Photography. Everyday, I'm grateful to continue doing what I love with other families and professionals.
