I'm thinking about getting portraits taken, but I've never hired a professional photographer. How does the process work?
Just reach out! We'll set up a time to chat about details while you decide if we're a good fit. Many of my clients have no previous professional photography experience, so please don't worry. I'll guide you through the process. 'Donna Owens Photography' is a one-person small business, so I'll be your point of contact throughout the entire experience.

I've already decided that I want to hire you for a portrait session experience. What's the next step?
Please let me know what type of portrait session you're interested in and if you have an ideal date or timeframe. From there, we'll plan all of the fun details in your Pre-Session Consultation, such as location, deciding what to wear, what to expect, choosing your favorite images from the session, etc. Your session will be officially booked on my calendar once you sign my Photography Agreement, which you can do before or after our Pre-Session Consultation.

Where and when do your portrait sessions take place?
Every session is a collaboratively designed experience! Together, we'll find the best-fit location for your ideas and situation. I can also suggest beautiful locations in the DC metro area where I'm familiar with the lighting, driving/parking logistics, and other relevant details. All sessions are scheduled as either a 'morning' or 'afternoon' session to provide last minute weather tweaks and to ensure no one feels rushed through their session. Morning sessions can begin between sunrise and 10:00 AM. Afternoon sessions can begin between 2:00 PM and 3 hours before sunset.
